The 6th International Highlight Concert

Performances by Students of Yamaha Music School Around the World

Wong Jun Yu (13) / Malaysia

Just a Boy (Wong Jun Yu) / JUNIOR ORIGINAL CONCERT / Vocal & Piano & Ukelele Solo

The first demo of 'Just a Boy' was crafted on my grandma’s computer when I was 12, amid self-hopes and external expectations. While this song touches on various themes, it primarily explores my inner world of emotions, perceptions, and the ongoing journey of self-discovery and acceptance. Despite it all, I'm just like everyone else - 'Just a Boy'.

A Brave Little Monster (Tseng, Shao Yu) / JUNIOR ORIGINAL CONCERT / Piano Duet

One day, my family and I were watching a movie, Godzilla. I felt that Godzilla owns enormous power and courage, and it inspired me to compose this piece. This composition describes a brave little monster which fights with another monster. Although it unfortunately gets injured, it is so courageous to heal itself. Finally, it sets off bravely again.

The Unheeded Pageant (Luo Shenghan) / JUNIOR ORIGINAL CONCERT / Piano Solo

A dark forest, every civilization is a hunter with a gun, like a ghost in the forest, everyone gently pushed aside the branches to explore the outside world, trying not to make footsteps, because the forest has stealth hunters everywhere like him. The bud of love also exists elsewhere in the universe, and we should encourage her germination and growth. "We can take a risk out for that."Yes, you can take the risk."I have a dream that maybe one day, the bright sun will shine into the dark forest.”

Roller Coaster (Hael Kim) / JUNIOR ORIGINAL CONCERT / Vocal & Piano Solo

This song was composed as I reminisced about the joy and excitement of riding a roller coaster for the first time at an amusement park on my 10th birthday. I hope that listeners can also experience the emotions of that day through my performance and song.

Mosaic Fiesta (Yee Hong Shyan) / JUNIOR ORIGINAL CONCERT / Electone Solo

A mosaic is a beautiful and intricate work of art, made up of tiles of different shapes, sizes, colours, just like people around the world. Our lives are lalso made up of tiles of different beautiful experiences. I wrote Mosiac Fiesta as a celebration of the joyous tapestry of life. I worked hard on the final section to integrate the counter melody with the orginal motif and with the ad lib segment. Please listen out for the counter melody on the left hand. I hope you enjoy it!

Impossible / Hendry Osorio / PMC / Ensemble

It was a song written based on a melody, the song is of the pop rock genre, it has a striking guitar riff typical of the genre, it has elements of vocal demand for the singer. It's about that first love that ends, breaks your heart, but even though it's impossible, you want and try to forget.

My composition, "It’s Always…” is dedicated to my family. Each section of the piece reflects a different side of their personalities. The bright and bubbly opening represents my mom’s energetic personality. In contrast, the steady rhythm in the second movement conveys my dad’s calming and relaxed presence. The third movement’s energetic and whimsical passages represent my brother's fun and playful sides.
